Stand Up For Free Speech Blogburst

Last week, I  became aware of the bully tactics Brett Kimberlin employed against bloggers Aaron Walker, Stacy McCain and Patterico.

Bully tactics is a gentle description of the vile actions of the convicted Speedway Bomber used against the bloggers.

Lee Stranahan provides a scary look into who Brett Kimberlin is:

Via Kimberlin Files

Blogger Aaron Walker and his wife lost their full-time jobs as a result of Brett Kimberlin’s attacks. Robert Stacy McCain lost his home.

Patterico shares his horrifiying experience of “Swatting” in July 2011.

The actions of Kimberlin is a chilling assault on free speech for EVERYONE in the political blogosphere – right or left. Political points of view aside, all of us should remain vigilant in protecting free speech within public arenas. Having a robust political dialog provides a platform for everyone to make better informed political choices.

SHG writing at Simple Justice make a very astute observation about the nature of free speech:

But speech isn’t free for anyone if it isn’t free for everyone. That’s just how rights work.

Many have written detailed accounts of the vile activities of Brett Kimberlin. There is not much more that I can add to this story.  I simply want to raise my voice in support of free speech for all regardless of political affiliation.

H/T to Michelle Malkin for curating the Free Speech Blogburst event.

    I dunno, maybe I am just weird, but I was raised to fiercely believe that “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” Apparently the opposite is taught today.

    Ain’t it strange how the looney left seems to embrace terrorists. Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn are leaders in the leftist movement. This creep Brett Kimberlin. The New Black Panthers use threats and intimidation to get their way, as do the SEIU and AFL-CIO.

    The left just seems to breed violence. Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist. Squeaky Fromme, who tried to shoot Gerald Ford, was a follower of radical leftist Charles Manson. John Hinkley is a crimanlly insane leftist. Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber. Jared Lee Loughner was described as being very left wing by people who knew him, despite efforts to paint him as being right wing. Rev. Jim Jones, who hold the record for the largest mass suicide in history at Jonestown, Guyana, was a communist. While Pastor Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church has never used violence, he does cause emotional pain and suffering to people, and he’s a registered democrat.

    The obsolete media and democrats say the Tea Party is violent. So, to them I say;
    Matthew 7:3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
