The progressive Democrat leadership promised America that their overhaul of healthcare, adding an additional 30 million individuals into a government controlled insurance plan would cut costs and not add additional taxation to the middle class.

Two reports released last week confirm what critics have been carefully explaining – the overhaul of healthcare will increase costs at a higher rate.

A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama’s aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls. But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president’s twin goal of controlling runaway costs. It also warned that Medicare cuts may be unrealistic and unsustainable, driving about 15% of hospitals into the red and “possibly jeopardizing access” to care for seniors.

CBO estimates 4 million Americans will face Health care fines:

A separate Congressional Budget Office analysis, also released Thursday, estimated that 4 million households would be hit with tax penalties under the law for failing to get insurance.

An Unexpected Mea Culpa

Thank You former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush.

As we will always be grateful for what George and Laura Bush did this week, with no media attention, when they very quietly went to Ft. Hood and met personally with the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.

FOR HOURS.

The Bushes went and met privately with these families for HOURS, hugging them, holding them, comforting them.

If there are any of you out there with any connection at all to the Bushes, we implore you to give them our thanks…you tell them that a bunch of gay Hillary guys in Boystown, Chicago were wrong about the Bushes…and are deeply, deeply sorry for any jokes we told about them in the past, any bad thoughts we had about these good, good people.

You may be as surprised by this as we are ourselves, but from this day forward George W. and Laura Bush are now on the same list for us as the Clintons, Geraldine Ferraro, Stephanie Tubbs Jones, and the other political figures we keep in our hearts and never allow anyone to badmouth.

Criticize their policies academically and intelligently and discuss the Bush presidency in historical and political terms…but you mess with the Bushes personally and, from this day forward, you’ll answer to us.

We hope someday to be able to thank George W. and Laura in person for all they’ve done, and continue to do. They didn’t have to head to Ft. Hood. That was not their responsibility.

The Obamas should have done that.

But didn’t.

Wouldn’t.

Thank goodness George W. is still on his watch, with wonderful Laura at his side.

Oh mercy, this is a huge step in healing this divided nation. I applaud this step and look forward to more coming to the same conclusion.

As a practicing psychiatrist counseling soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who openly expressed his fundamentalist belief in jihad; I would request a review of the medical charts of the 96 soldiers who have committed suicide this year to see if this jihadi psychiatrist had a role in their care.

If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington , D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period.

That means you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in the U.S. capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S. , than you are in Iraq .

Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington.

Obama refuses to release Cash for Clunker Data

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said Sunday the government would release electronic records about the program, and President Barack Obama has pledged greater transparency for his administration. But the Transportation Department, which has collected details about 157,000 rebate requests, won’t release sales data that dealers provided showing how much U.S. car manufacturers are benefiting from the $1 billion initially pumped into the program.

The Associated Press has sought release of the data since last week. But the public and Senate Republicans demanding more information will have to wait for details because federal officials running the program don’t have time to turn over data delivered by car dealers, said Rae Tyson,National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. spokesman for the

LaHood said in an interview Sunday he would make the electronic records available. “I can’t think of any reason why we wouldn’t do it,” he said.

DOT officials already have received electronic details from car dealers of each trade-in transaction. The agency regularly analyzes the data internally, producing helpful talking points for LaHood, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs and other officials to use when urging more funding.

LaHood, the program’s chief salesman, has pitched the rebates as good for America, good for car buyers, good for the environment, good for the economy. But it’s difficult to determine whether the administration is overselling the claim without seeing what’s being sold, what’s being traded in and where the cars are being sold.

Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz (D-13), who bills herself as a fiscal paragon, was quick to spend another 2 billion of tax payer dollars to bailout this mess. A quick yes vote when the details regarding the first expenditure are kept hidden from the public is a hallmark of fiscal irresponsibilty. Has the Congresswoman mislead her constituents? What has Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz done for you lately – besides spend your tax dollars?

A Look Towards The Future

Welcome to the United Socialist State of America.

The voting public has spoken and chose the most unqualified person imaginable for President of the United States. Then again, the voters were ripe for the winds of change and would have voted for Pol Pot if he were the Dem’s presidential candidate.

We are now have front row seats to the spectacular failure that will define the Obama presidency. Of course, all abject failures of this regime..er..presidency will be blamed on Bush administration, the main stream media will concur, until they can’t hide the inadequacy of this new administration.

I’m disappointed the nation will have to endure this quisling-in-chief for four long years. This could have been avoided, but maybe it IS a good thing. Obama may be revered by low information voters; but they are in for the mother of all buyers remorse when they realize that Obama will not direct rays from heaven to erase their mortgage payment and provide them with an O-nation gas card.

This administration will not be the end of the United States, it will do its damn best to change the fundamental character of the United States and fail – magnificently.

Today the Dow sank below 400 erasing gains, yesterday hamas rocketed Israel and a chill wind blew in an overcast, rainy day in Philly. A sign of things to come?

Steve Den Best makes some prediction, and I have tacked on to the list some of my own (7-10).

1. Obama’s “hold out your hand to everyone” foreign policy is going to be a catastrophe. They’ll love it in Europe. They’re probably laughing their heads off about it in the middle east already.

2. The US hasn’t suffered a terrorist attack by al Qaeda since 9/11, but we’ll get at least one during Obama’s term.

3. We’re going to lose in Afghanistan.

4. Iran will get nuclear weapons. There will be nuclear war between Iran and Israel.

5. There will eventually be a press backlash against Obama which will make their treatment of Bush look mild. Partly that’s going to be because Obama is going to disappoint them just as much as all his other supporters. Partly it will be the MSM desperately trying to regain its own credibility, by trying to show that they’re not in his tank any longer.

6. Obama will not be re-elected in 2012.

7. The nation of Georgia is toast, Ukraine and Poland should be very, very concerned. The US will boycott the Olympic Games in protest of the occupation of these nations

8. Myself, along with the posse over at Flopping Aces are looking forward to his coming failures and will point out at every opportunity how his future comments regarding foreign policy are identical to President Bush’s.

9. Obama is NOT the Anti-Christ. The Anti-Christ has an actual plan and millions of years of experience to call upon. Obama the President can claim NONE of these qualities.

10. Change is not such a bad thing. Today I crossed over into the light, changing my party registration to Republican.

Four years of an Obama administration should provide much entertainment, in two short years, midterm elections will begin to turn this nation back from the precipice. In the meantime life will go on, with peace movements having members charged with assault, winter soldiers continuing to smear the reputation of their fellow soldiers, and a new stronger conservative base will rise.
