There is little doubt campaign momentum is strongly with Republican candidate Scott Brown in these final days before Tuesday’s special election. What was expected to be a business as usual elevation of the Democrat candidate, Martha Coakley to ‘Kennedy’s senate seat’ has taken a decidedly different direction.
It all began to unravel when Martha Coakley began to speak:
2009 witnessed the rise of grass root citizen activism with millions of ordinary citizens turning out to tea parties all over the country. Without a doubt, history is in the making. So how does the newly energized citizen activist document it? Fortunately, we are living in the midst of a tech boom, especially digital recording and communication. Today’s activist has an astounding array of digital choices for documenting and disseminating the tea party message.
Attending conventions and tea party rallies, I find there’s a great knowledge gap between tech super users and newly energized citizen activists. I spend a fair amount of time evaluating digital technology used to document tea party rallies and have put together a ’starter kit’ for the citizen activist seeking to document history happening in their own backyard. This kit cuts through the clutter and tells you exactly what you need to purchase – without having to apply for a federal bailout loan. Let’s start with a list of items you will need; Digital Camera, Digital video recorder, Netbook, Blog, Business Cards, and Local News Media.
Philadelphia hosted its first Tea Party way back in December 27th, 1773. 236 years later, the organizers of the Independence Hall Tea Party Association hosted a re-enactment of the event. Big Talker 1210 personality Dom Giordano represented Dr. Benjamin Rush, leader of the 1773 Tea Party, as he read the original resolutions adopted by Philadelphia and Boston.
Check out the featured video on your left which captures the re-enactment of the Original Tea Party. I must say, Dom looks good in white stockings.
This is a crucial bit of history that reveals Philadelphian’s once stood for something bigger than themselves – a lesson from the past that we are in dire need of today.
Oh, check out the Fife and Drum Corp in the video below the fold – they were a talented bunch who were greatly appreciated by the assembled crowd.
You may have missed the ‘Silent No More’ rally in Chicago if you only watch CNN/NBC/ABC/CBS/MSNBC. My blogging buddy, John Ruberry (Marathon Pundit) has the opportunity to speak at the rally in Millennium Park. He is a wise blogger and accomplished runner, you have much to learn from him.
Philadelphia Tells Specter and Sebelius – O Hell No!
I guarantee future TownHall meetings to discuss the health care scheme will be invitation only. All questions will be vetted before being presented to the speakers – mark my words.
Philadelphia joined in a nationwide protest of Obama’s proposed healthcare scheme by organizing a rally outside Sen. Bob Casey’s office.
Unfortunately, I could not attend this rally. My good buddy, NeoCon, was on the scene to capture the rally with his remarkable photo skills. You can view the entire collection HERE
For a great roundup of the nationwide healthcare rally’s check out the following blogs:
FYI: Upon reflection, I have updated my Philly Tea Party count to 1500 participants. I purposely low-balled the number until I could get a better sense of the crowd size via photos and video.
My blogging buddy, Ed Driscoll, has put together a video review of the July 4th San Jose Tea Party. Ed has some serious green screening going in this video – check it out:
You can check out his blog, Ed Driscoll.com for more links of Tea Party coverage. Can we now call the Tea Party movement a ’surge’?

I‘m in the process of uploading the videos of Philly’s Tea Party at Independence Hall which will be shown at the Dallas Tea Party.
UPDATE: Three videos from Philly’s Tea Party at Independence Mall were featured at the Dallas Tea Party! The Texans had the pleasure of meeting Rep. Curt Schroder, Talk Show host Dom Giordano and the assembled patriots in Philly.
UPDATE:
Rep. Curt Schroder’s message to the Dallas Tea Party which was broadcast in Dallas and on Breitbart TV:
The July 4th Tea Parties have gotten off to an early start –
Instapundit is reporting 5,000 patriots attended the Marietta, GA Tea Party and 4,000 patriots at the Cobb County Tea Party. The Houston Tea Party organizers estimate 5-10,000 patriots attended their rally. The Las Vegas Tea Party was a rousing success!
July 4th – Philadelphia – Independence Hall:
Over 1500 in attendance celebrating the freedom granted by our Founding Fathers in the place were our Nation was born. I am happy to report that the videos I shot at this Tea Party were broadcast live in Dallas and on Breitbart TV – Thanks to all who took a moment to share your thoughts about the meaning of today’s TeaParty!
