First They Killed Your Pet to Protect The Planet

Now the greenazi’s would like you to protect the planet by reducing the carbon footprint of the food you eat. In other words, stop eating in order to protect the planet.

Swedes Study Their Plates

STOCKHOLM — Shopping for oatmeal, Helena Bergstrom, 37, admitted that she was flummoxed by the label on the blue box reading, “Climate declared: .87 kg CO2 per kg of product.”

A dairy farm near Uppsala is among the Swedish companies now focusing on the carbon dioxide emitted in food production.

“Right now, I don’t know what this means,” said Ms. Bergstrom, a pharmaceutical company employee.

But if a new experiment here succeeds, she and millions of other Swedes will soon find out. New labels listing the carbon dioxide emissions associated with the production of foods, from whole wheat pasta to fast food burgers, are appearing on some grocery items and restaurant menus around the country.

People who live to eat might dismiss this as silly. But changing one’s diet can be as effective in reducing emissions of climate-changing gases as changing the car one drives or doing away with the clothes dryer, scientific experts say.

Silly Swedes. What you won’t see is any empirical study noting the direct correlation of a change in global climate by adjusting a diet around this new measurement. You most likely will see the Swedish government taking these calculations and using them to ban foods based on their carbon dioxide rating.

Attend a screening of the premier of “Not Evil Just Wrong tonight!

This is the movie that gives Al Gore and his supporters angina. Anne McElhinney and Phelim McAleer paint a human face on the cold reality of government mandated ‘climate change’ (aka Global Warming) policies. The film delves into the misinformation campaign against DDT and the global warming hysteria that is being fed to schoolchildren.

Sorry, Virginia, the Polar Bears and NOT dying..they are thriving!

Find as screening near you – Public Premiers of Not Evil Just Wrong

BREAKING NEWS:  Andrew Breitbart announces his new project at the post premier Q&A: Big Environment. This new venture will be headed up by Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer. This is going to get good folks!

Not Evil Just Wrong….Way Wrong

One of my favorite features on this blog is the ‘featured video section. I appreciate the ability to promote a worthy video for my readers (and lurkers) to view.  The video posted on the left is the trailer for an independent film entitled Not Evil, Just Wrong’.

The documentary created by journalists Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney takes an unflinching look at the human cost of environmental propaganda. One can cite statistics that point out the flawed rhetoric of Greenpeace or Al Gore, but to be able to combine a human story to these academic numbers is pure brilliance.

October 18th, 8pm EST is the date set for the global premier of this film. Not surprisingly,  Hollywood won’t touch this film, so the intrepid creators are looking to people like you and me to host a premier viewing party at your home.  Together we can participate in the world’s largest simultaneous movie premier and gain a better perspective of the human cost of arrogant environmentalism.

The Economic Costs of the Lieberman-Warner Climate Change Legislation

H/T: Flopping Aces

Members of Congress are considering several bills designed to combat climate change. Chief among them is Senate bill 2191–America’s Climate Security Act of 2007–spearheaded by Joseph Lieberman (I-CT) and John Warner (R-VA). This bill would set a limit on the emissions of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide from the combustion of coal, oil, and natural gas.

YIKES! Any you though paying 4 dollars/gallon of gas was expensive……

S. 2191 extracts trillions of dollars from the millions of American energy consumers and delivers this wealth to permanently identified classes of recipients, such as tribal groups and preferred technology sectors, while largely circumventing the normal congressional appropriations process. Unbound by the periodic review of the normal budgetary process, this de facto tax-and-spend program threatens to become permanent–independent of the goals of the legislation.

This type of wealth redistribution sounds similar to Demand 13 and 14 of the National German Socialist Workers Party

The Heritage Foundation has presented a detailed review of the economic impact of S.B. 2191. Their conclusion finds this Bill to be one of the most expensive environmental undertakings [disasters] in history.

Even under a fairly optimistic set of assumptions, the economic impact of S. 2191 is likely to be serious for the job market, household budgets, energy prices, and the economy overall. The burden will be shouldered by the average American. The bill would have the same effect as a major new energy tax–only worse. In the case of S. 2191, increases in the tax rate are set by forces beyond legislative control.

Under a more realistic set of assumptions, the impact would be considerably more severe. More significant than the wealth destroyed by S. 2191 is the wealth transferred from the energy-using public to a list of selected special interests.

Overall, S. 2191 would likely be–by far–the most expensive environmental undertaking in history.

Europeans talk big about ‘fighting climate change’ yet balk at putting the Euros out for their belief:

Despite a groundswell of support for measures to fight climate change, Europeans are reluctant to pay extra for clean cars. In some cases they resist features such as stop-start mechanisms, which some drivers fear will hamper their ability to merge at roundabouts.
