Life’s Little Bits of Irony

Friday, August 20, 2010 11:31pm 228 views

Apparently I share a birthday with Ron Paul. Oh why, oh why?

In other news, with the scandal of the F*ck Tea Project (FTP) swirling through the blogosphere, I think I’ve stumbled upon one reason for the gaping divide  between liberals and the rest of America. In short, we don’t speak the same language.  The brilliant Troglopundit describes the nuances of liberal-speak with FTP:

They’re “promoting the progressive cause” with a campaign that can’t be named in public.

You can’t say the name out loud unless you want people averting their eyes and declining to associate with you.

Broadcast media will talk around it, if they admit it’s there at all.

Politicians will agree with you in secret, but will publicly pretend that you don’t exist.

It’s just like the “progressive” political agenda!

This is not breaking news, over the years liberals have been desperately trying to communicate with the rest of America in the only way they know how.

Forever New Orleans

Saturday, July 10, 2010 7:37pm 321 views

Dear Readers,

I will be taking the week off in order to attend a conference in New Orleans, LA.  My schedule has very little down time, therefore, I will not be able to update the blog or approve comments. Essentially, I’m going off the grid for a week, and I’m hopeful I’ll survive sans Blogging, Tweeting, FB’ing, and Amplifying.

Of course, there will be photos and video to process when I return. Perhaps a story or two..it is NOLA.

Have a great week and I’ll see you next Sunday :)

Tania

PS: While I’m gone – chew on these tidbits:

Two (Dem) Council Members Give Staffers Raises :

City Hall belt tightening didn’t prevent two Council members from recently handing out raises to staffers. Councilman Bill Green this month gave raises to five of his staffers, including a $30,000 bump to his Chief of Staff Sophie Bryan, bringing her salary to $100,000. In total, Green increased his staff salaries by $42,500 and is now paying $354,720 to his 7-person office, according to city data.

Thank You, Helen Thomas!

Thanks for breaking down another barrier and allowing the entire world to briefly view the true decrepit nature of empowered female liberalism. This nation need more peeks into the nature of this beast. Those holding such views should be encouraged to do so openly, no more hiding behind false constructs of feminism or radicalism. If this country is truly wanting to push past racial and cultural barriers, we need to accept that there are racists and bigots hiding among us. Helen Thomas has truly broken the watershed of this ugly, and disguised bigotry. For this action, I applaud her.  I hope more will follow her lead and drop the mask and reveal their bigoted nature so our nation can move past them and become the shining city on the hill.

It has been said that the truth will set you free, indeed, just as Hearst Corporation set Helen Thomas free :)

Best yet, this controversy allowed a crack journalist, Tommy Christopher, to ask a real hardball question regarding Helen’s comments during a White House briefing. I almost thought he was going to beg for Helen’s former seat, but instead he asked a well rehearsed spur of the moment question to Robert Gibbs.

It was not so long ago when Obama was singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the elderly Thomas at the White House press room, now he won’t return her phone calls…

Who Funded Will Folks? UPDATE: Erick Erickson is Unsure

Thursday, May 27, 2010 10:00pm 542 views

Erick Erickson Tweeted this morning : I know who paid Will Folks. This just got interesting.

Blogged at RedState: BREAKING: We Know Who Did It

Who paid Will Folks? He was allegedly offered money. A LOT of money. In fact, RedState now confirms through a whole heap of sources that he’s been trying to sell this story for a year.We know who bit.We know who didn’t bite.We know who paid Will Folks to push this story out there.

Will Folks denies it and lawyers up.

Erick promises to reveal all tomorrow morning:

You’ll have to tune into RedState in the morning for the answer. It’s taking a bit longer to translate everything into third-person prose.

For those coming in late to this story, let me get you up to speed on this drama. A South Carolina blogger, Will Folks, publicly revealed on his blog what he describes as an “inappropriate physical relationship” with gubernatorial hopeful Nikki Haley. Within nanoseconds the DNC began to push the alleged sex scandal and the lefty blogs had a collective orgasm over this allegation. Today, Erick Erickson threw an ocean of ice cold water on Will and the leftistas drooling over this alleged affair. Erick flat out stated he knows who is funding Will Folks to publish his allegation.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s revelation, who do you believe if funding Will Folks?

Like the US Dollar, has the value of the White House fallen so greatly that a television series can preempt the State of The Union address?

Apparently so.

Attend a screening of the premier of “Not Evil Just Wrong tonight!

This is the movie that gives Al Gore and his supporters angina. Anne McElhinney and Phelim McAleer paint a human face on the cold reality of government mandated ‘climate change’ (aka Global Warming) policies. The film delves into the misinformation campaign against DDT and the global warming hysteria that is being fed to schoolchildren.

Sorry, Virginia, the Polar Bears and NOT dying..they are thriving!

Friday Blend

Just a few bits of news to ponder on this chilly Friday evening:

The Baucus Bill – bloated with rank dishonesty and very little health care. Click HERE to listen to House Republican Conference Vice Chair, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Congressman John Shadegg to give an update about the health care reform proposals before Congress. Photos by yours truly.

WH Communication director, Anita Dunn, displays her oral fixation of the bloody dictator, Mao Tse-sung.

An excerpt of the NRO essay on energy independence and related environmental issues authored by Sarah Palin

Drill

Those who oppose domestic drilling are motivated primarily by environmental considerations, but many of the countries we’re forced to import from have few if any environmental-protection laws, and those that do exist often go unenforced. In effect, American environmentalists are preventing responsible development here at home while supporting irresponsible development overseas.

MI-5 Chief, Johnathan Evans, defends the use of enhanced interrogation techniques – apparently it works:

Now, eight years on, we have a better understanding of the nature and scope of al Qaida’s capabilities but we did not have that understanding in the period immediately after 9/11,”

V: The Series is coming back to the small screen on November 3rd. I’m sure you all remember the series first aired in 1984 and featured lizard-like aliens that disguised themselves as human who offered peace, but secretly plotted the subjection of all humanity to their will? No? Okay, the re-imagined version is apparently being ‘softened’ – as reported by Tom Jicha:

The teasers running on ABC offer a hint of this. “They gave us hope. We gave them our trust.” Who does that bring to mind? Of course, the Visitors (hence the title), after promising things like universal health care and peace in a one world government, turn out to be totally evil. They attempt to seize control of the media, favoring those who don’t challenge them or ask probing questions about their real agenda, which turns out to be the annihilation of humanity. The heroes are everyday people, who form a grass roots resistance movement. Supposedly, the show is being slightly re-conceptualized to soften or remove events some might interpret as negative parallels to today.

Ohhh…I’ve got a new sci -fi show to blog about!
