Halloween Movie Fest

A Pile of Pumpkins!

October is my absolute favorite month of the year.  Crisp temperature, Marathons, pumpkin spice, Halloween treats and leaves painted red and gold make for a  beautifully delicious month. Mix all this goodness with a great selection of Halloween inspired movies and life is golden. I wonder if the campers at Occupy Philly have a Netflix tent next to the cell phone charging tent? Or would that be too bourgeoisie?

Below the cut I’ve selected some of my must watch Halloween movies to get you into the spirit of the season.

Enjoy!

Charlie Brown Halloween – I’m sure this classic cartoon reached the height of of cult classic, right?

Sleepy Hollow –  Starring Christina Ricci and Johnnie Depp, this is one creepy rendition of the classic American novel.

Practical Magic –  I’m no witch, but I found this movie quite bewitching:

Fright Night –  Colin Ferrell can bite me any day.

The Craft –  It’s sort of like Practical Magic but the witches are real biatches:

The Frighteners –  This movie reminds you of the importance of heading into the light after you pass on, unless you prefer hanging out on earth dripping ectoplasm all over the place.

A small, but quality list of my favorite Halloween flavored movies. Do you have a favorite Halloween movie? Let me know in the comment section.

Did you write to Colin Ferrell to tell him, “Bite me!”?
There’s an English ghost story called “Haunted” starring Kate Beckinsale. It’s not very scary but has a very surprising ending.

    Christina Ricci, not Kristin Dunst.
