Wisconsin Recall Vote Today UPDATED

GOP 4  DEM 2 = America Wins

Update: The result of a $30 million dollar campaign by Wisconsin progressive organizations and DNC garnered two recall wins and falling short of capturing the majority of the Wisconsin Senate.   On August 16th,  two Democrat senators, Jim Holperin (D12) and Robert Wirch (D22) are scheduled for a recall vote, both Senators ran to Illinois during debate of Governor Walker’s Budget Repair Bill.  Riding on the success for last night’s recall vote, the GOP looks to pick up these seat effectively erasing the DNC small gain of two seats last night.

The moral of this story – money does not guarantee Senate seats.

Today voters in Wisconsin will decide the fate of six Republican State Senators – Senator Randy Hopper; Senator Dan Kapanke; Senator Alberta Darling; Senator Sheila Harsdorf; Senator Luther Olsen; Senator Robert Cowles.

Da Tech Guy reminds readers and Wisconsin voters what is at stake with these recall elections:

Wisconsin saw their Capital occupied by protesters, they saw the most partisan judicial elections they have ever seen. Through bloggers like Ann Althouse they were able to see what happened not only unfiltered but in the protestors own words.

We have also seen the results of these actions. Several counties that were faceing deficit and layoffs are now, thanks to the Walker plan seeing surplus and hiring.

Two Democrat Senators face recall elections next week.  Kurt Schlichter posted a detailed look at the anticipated convulsions as the welfare state dies.  I highly recommend the article to my readers and lurkers and see these recall elections as a litmus test for the Kurt’s hypothesis.

I’m keeping a close watch on the vote tallies tonight. Stay tuned for updates.
