Blog Sundries
Something completely unexpected happened during the mud run this past Sunday. I managed to break two bones during the course of the race. I fractured my left middle finger and chipped my right Fibula bone. Right now, I am on crutches to keep weight off my right ankle and have my left finger immobilized. Walking, typing, eating and gardening are now laborious activities. I have to tell you that this is a rather challenging experience as I’m a very active person. Every activity now has to be rethought due to my mobility issues and I’m gaining a new perspective of the daily challenges of permanently disabled individuals.
For this week at least I will be full time blogger. This coming Monday I’m having the ankle evaluated and hopefully move to a less restrictive cast. This break has pushed my running schedule back for at least a month. I will not be able to train for the ING Rock & Roll Half Marathon and most likely will run the Philly Half Marathon in November. It is a bitter pill for me but I’d rather heal and be able to run another day then never run again.

May your healing be fast and complete, may your down time be relaxing & fulfilling. I hope you feel better soon.
Since you said your changing the design of your blog, I’m sure you’ll find the silver lining in this particular cloud. You don’t strike me as the type to slow down for much, but everyone should stop to catch their breath once in a while.
Well, Tania, I’m sorry to hear that.
I, myself, am sitting here with my right arm in a sling after laying my ‘cycle over at 60mph. I dislocated my elbow and tore 2 ligaments.
I’ll Pray for your healing if you Pray for mine. Deal?
Sorry to read about your injuries, Trevor.
Deal
Well… at least you had fun doing it. (How many times have you heard that?)
I hope you heal up fast and well.
love the finger splint photo…very creative…and the ace bandaged leg reminds me of when I was 6 and would help my grandmother wrap her legs in ace bandages..
Get well soon..
and Trevor, I feel your pain, I went down on my bike a few months ago….my shoulder still does some strange tingley sensations but I didn’t break anything.
