PA 2010 Watch
Thursday, October 08, 2009 8:39pm 201 viewsThe Hill goes in search of key races in the Keystone State and finds one in Chester County.
Rep. Jim Gerlach (R), a perennial Democratic target who has survived three tough-fought elections, is vacating his exurban Philadelphia seat in order to run for governor. Gerlach’s district has voted for Democratic presidential candidates in the last three cycles, and retired newspaper editor Doug Pike (D) is off to a strong fundraising (ed. note: mostly self funded) head start.
Republicans face a primary between Chester County Recorder of Deeds Ryan Costello, venture capitalist Steven Welch and state Rep. Curt Schroder, with Schroder the early front-runner.
Curt Schroder is well-liked among his peers and enjoys broad bipartisan support in Harrisburg. He brings 15 years of experience in public office, where he put the interests of his constituency first. In DC he will bring a fresh approach of fiscal responsibility, low taxation and limited government. Isn’t that what many really voted for in 2008? Let’s bring real change to DC in 2010 – Vote For Curt!
